Welcome to Countesthorpe Cricket Club

With over 80 years history, we are one of the oldest and proudest clubs in South Leicestershire. Tucked away on the outskirts of the village, we have a hard working committee and thriving junior section, we are very community minded.

Countesthorpe offer 3 Saturday sides playing in the Everards County Cricket League and Leicestershire League and an Evening League side playing on Tuesday's. Club nets will now be available on Thursday's for the 15's under 17's and seniors and Friday's for under 13's Match day's will be Monday's Wednesday's and Sunday's During the winter South Wigston High School provide the net facilities on Mondays.

Our kwik and Incrediball junior section (under 11's)are coached on Friday's evenings during the season with matches on alternate Friday's. This year we are entering 8 sides in the Junior Leagues. During the winter, nets and coaching are available on Sunday Evenings at Countesthorpe College. We will take boys and girls from the age of 8 years old.

As part of our Clubmark accreditation we feel that we should provide the relevent information for it. Those members and parents who are interested in the welfare and conduct of players can access this information in the 'Postings' section of the website where the documents are easily downloaded.

Countesthorpe welcome any new members whether they be playing or just social. For more information about playing and social events come down to the club at Bassett Avenue which is open most nights during the summer and Saturday mornings in the winter or keep tabs on the website.

The Boot and The Glove

The Rules of the Boot and Glove:

-Nominations take place after each game.

-Nominations can be about anything and anyone who has made a fool of themselves in the past.

-The person who has the boot or glove must wear it around their neck and hand until 12 o'clock that night. They must also sign it.

-If the person does not keep the boot or glove on then he/she will be fined.

-Losing the boot or glove automatically means a £50 fine.
